Barbara joined Whitelaw Twining as an associate in 2017 and practices in general insurance litigation and employment law. She enjoys the intellectually stimulating and meaningful cases she gets to dive into in these areas. At all times, she is a passionate advocate for her clients—she has successfully defended them at mediations, administrative tribunals and before Alberta’s Provincial Court and Court of Queen’s Bench, and British Columbia’s Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.
Advocacy has always been a top priority in Barbara’s life. During law school, she volunteered with Student Legal Assistance, ProBono Students Canada and the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund. Her work for the community earned her the David Tavender Prize in Dispute Resolution in 2016, the Student Legal Assistance Ambassador Award in 2014 and the 2014 Borden Ladner Gervais Trial Advocacy Internship.
When she’s not on the go, Barbara enjoys quality time with her labradoodle, entertains friends and family, goes on hikes and practices yoga.
