Mia joined Whitelaw Twining in 2019 after working at an insurance-focused national law firm. Mia has a diverse litigation practice focused primarily on subrogation, construction law, bodily injury, professional liability, as well as employment and directors/officers liability. Mia also has past experience with securities litigation, shareholder disputes, and insolvency litigation.
Mia is a passionate advocate who has acted for clients at the British Columbia Provincial Courts and British Columbia Supreme Courts, including at trial in Supreme Court. Mia enjoys analyzing cases utilizing her experience on both sides of the bar to provide the best advice to her clients. Mia sharpened her advocacy skills during law school, where she competed in the national Corporate/Securities Law Moot, and was awarded the FMC business law fellowship.
While not at the office, Mia enjoys cooking, long-distance running and hiking, and traveling to new places. Mia also enjoys volunteering for charitable causes; she currently serves as a board member of the West Coast Legal Education and Action Fund, a legal organization working to advance gender equality through the law, and NutritionLink Services Society, an organization providing grants to address nutritional needs of vulnerable British Columbians.
