Michael’s litigation practice is diverse, with a primary focus on complex insurance, cross-border and personal injury matters. He is a passionate advocate for his clients at all levels of British Columbia, Ontario and Saskatchewan courts. He has considerable experience in everything from handling complex multi-party liability claims to reviewing and drafting policies, and prosecuting and defending surety claims. His experience includes jury and non-jury trials.
Apart from insurance law, he has been successful in defeating class actions and has handled defences involving difficult medical issues, complicated economic loss claims and contentious liability. Michael views his clients’ problems like elaborate puzzles. He is persistent in finding the key elements that can quickly resolve their issues.
Outside of the office, Michael teaches law at a Vancouver college. He also flies planes, travels, and practises his photography skills.
