François-Pierre Laforest

François-Pierre joined Whitelaw Twining as a partner in 2025. With extensive experience in civil litigation, François-Pierre has represented institutional clients before all levels of Court in Quebec.

François-Pierre represents domestic and international insurers, handling defense, recovery, and coverage matters. He also coordinates bank collection files. As a secondee on the London Market, François-Pierre handled international claims within his given authority, providing him with a unique perspective on international claims management and a deep understanding of the Lloyd’s market.

He holds a law degree and a major in economics from l’Université de Montréal and is a member of the Quebec Bar.

When not in the office, François-Pierre enjoys running, sailing, and skiing. He is also a volunteer member of a board of directors dedicated to access to justice.
