At W-T, we embrace diversity and work to incorporate DE&I initiatives into the firm’s culture. We recognize that the personal experiences of team members from diverse backgrounds make our workplace stronger and our client service better.

Our vision is to create and sustain a working environment and culture where colleagues of all different backgrounds are able to contribute at their highest level to deliver positive outcomes for our teams, clients and communities. To us, this objective ultimately leads to a team that collectively has greater insight, understanding and a more varied knowledge and skill base.

W-T’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee is led by Nicole Chang and David Fung and supported by various committee members including staff and lawyers, who fulfil an advisory role and put forward initiatives. Primarily, the Committee works to identify resources for DE&I training and external initiatives for the firm to support and promote in the DE&I space.

Here are some of our initiatives to celebrate and champion diversity and inclusion:

  • Diversity Hub: we have an internal diversity and inclusion platform intended to provide all members with resources on different issues, as well as encourage discussion and suggestion on how we can do better.
  • Diversity and Inclusion Calendar: we have a diversity and inclusion calendar that includes various cultural, religious, and awareness events that is available to all members of the firm. We strive to provide awareness and knowledge around each of the different topics and events.
  • Truth & Reconciliation Day: we provide educational resources to all members of our team and raise awareness on the history and meaning behind Truth & Reconciliation Day.
  • Pride Month: our offices come together to collaborate and organize events and initiatives that recognize Pride. We also make donations to local 
non-profit organizations that further building an inclusive community and a safe space.

W-T encourages volunteer work and is proud of our team members’ ongoing involvement in various local communities and organizations. Where possible, we aim to identify joint initiatives in which we can participate with our clients to support mutually meaningful causes.
