Profile

Vanessa joined Whitelaw Twining in the spring of 2022. Vanessa has been working as a paralegal since 2019 when she received her paralegal designation from Capilano University and made the exciting transition from legal assistant to paralegal. She brings a variety of experience from working for broad-based civil litigation practices, including in the areas of commercial litigation, employment law, administrative law, business law and construction litigation. Vanessa has finely crafted her skillset to provide diverse support to our team in the areas of subrogation, insurance defence, professional liability and commercial litigation.

Vanessa is passionate about her work and enjoys thinking critically to support our lawyers through all aspects of a file. She assists with drafting pleadings, performing legal research, preparing memoranda, reviewing and analyzing document disclosure, corresponding and liaising with opposing counsel and clients, preparing for examinations for discovery and court appearances, and other crucial tasks to ensure we’re achieving the best results for our clients.

When Vanessa is not working, she enjoys playing tennis, running on the Vancouver seawall and cooking delicious meals with her family and friends. On a rainy day, Vanessa is happy to be a cinema enthusiast and play a game of cribbage.
