As Wellness Day is coming up, the sustainability committee would like to encourage everyone to participate in eco-friendly ways you can commute to work.
According to the EPA, the transportation sector is the single largest manufacturer of motor vehicles and is responsible for producing 27% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions from the United States alone.
Taking a new commute to work has many benefits not only for the environment, but also personal well-being. While walking and biking can improve cardiovascular health which increases levels of oxygen to the brain leading to a boost of energy levels, carpooling and public transportation are seen to show several social benefits and can reduce stress and burnouts.
