Veteran insurance litigator and industry leader joins national firm to bolster Eastern Canada expansion
(TORONTO,ON) May 26, 2025 – Whitelaw Twining, part of the DWF Group, is pleased to announce that Manmeet (Mini) Kohli has joined the firm as a Partner in our Toronto office. With more than 15 years of legal acumen and litigation experience in the insurance industry, Mini brings exceptional leadership, deep industry insight, and a proven track record of strategic success to our growing national team.
Mini is widely recognized for her thought leadership and contributions to the legal field. Nominated as one of Canadian Lawyer’s Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers in the category of Change Maker and In-House Lawyer in 2023, and recipient of Crawford & Company’s National Leader of Entrepreneurial Spirit award in 2019, Mini’s innovative approach and client-centric mindset have made her a respected leader in the industry.
Prior to joining Whitelaw Twining, Mini served as Vice President of Legal Services at Crawford & Company, where she provided executive oversight and strategic legal counsel, managed complex litigation, and led risk management initiatives. Her career also includes nearly a decade as a defence litigator at Hughes Amys LLP, where she handled high-stakes insurance defence matters and mentored junior litigators.

Her commitment to governance, diversity, and innovation will be invaluable as she steps into her new role at Whitelaw Twining.
Mini holds a Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School and is called to the Bar in Ontario. She is currently furthering her expertise with a Certificate in Board Governance, as well as Regulatory Compliance and Legal Risk Management at Osgoode.
