Gordon maintains a varied litigation practice with a focus on commercial, construction, energy, and indigenous litigation. He regularly acts for corporations and insurers involved in various commercial and construction disputes, and maintains a significant practice defending design professionals in construction disputes. Gordon also regularly acts for First Nations in commercial and business disputes.

Gordon regularly advocates for clients in mediations and commercial arbitrations, where he employs an assertive but tactful approach to achieve favourable outcomes. He is particularly favoured among clients for his practical advice aimed at achieving cost-effective and timely resolutions.
