Amy Ko

Profile

Amy joined Whitelaw Twining as an associate in 2025. She joined us from a boutique litigation firm and brings diverse experience in civil and commercial litigation, insurance defence, family law, and estate litigation. Amy is a determined and tenacious advocate and has appeared before the Supreme Court of British Columbia and the Provincial Court of British Columbia. She has assisted with multiple trials involving claims of negligence, professional liability, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, and personal injury.

Amy is Taiwanese and fluent in Mandarin.

Amy is passionate about access to justice and regularly provides pro bono services to self-represented litigants. She is a volunteer with the Amici Curiae Friendship Society, a roster lawyer with Access Pro Bono, and a supervising lawyer with the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program.

Amy earned her Juris Doctor and an Honours bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of British Columbia. During law school, she was a program coordinator with Pro Bono Students Canada, and she remains involved with various law school organizations.

In her spare time, Amy enjoys weightlifting, cooking, and reading novels by Jane Austen. She is a fan of rock concerts and musicals, and she has performed in a production of “Mamma Mia” with The Lawyer Show and Touchstone Theatre.
