Gordon maintains a varied litigation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) practice with a focus on corporate-commercial, construction, securities, regulatory, and collections disputes. He also advises and acts for insurers in complex commercial coverage disputes.

Gordon aims to deliver practical and cost-effective results for his clients. Cognizant of the risks of resorting to trial as the primary vehicle to resolve disputes, Gordon is a strong proponent of all forms of ADR. Gordon skillfully advocates for clients in mediations and arbitrations, where he employs an assertive but tactful approach to achieve favourable outcomes. He is particularly favoured among clients for his shrewd economic sense and applying a detailed cost-benefit analysis to inform strategic direction on legal issues.

Gordon is a staunch believer that financial means should not dictate one’s legal protection and benefit of the law, an ideology ignited through his volunteer work with Pro Bono Law Alberta and Calgary Legal Guidance. Gordon displays a continued commitment to improving access to justice and volunteers in the legal community, whenever possible.

Outside the office, Gordon is an avid sports enthusiast and a talented athlete who plays hockey, rugby, and golf, and enjoys weightlifting. In the wintertime, Gordon can be found in the Rocky Mountains, carving fresh powder on his snowboard.
