Jean-Pierre Baldassare has 30 years of experience as a litigator before the Superior Court and the Court of Appeal.

01 – Professional liability of accountants
- Defended a firm of chartered professional accountants sued by an investor who alleged that he had been misled by audited financial statements.
- Defended a professional chartered accountant in a professional liability action for failing to apply for tax credits on behalf of his client.
- Defended a chartered accountant in a liability action on the grounds that he overestimated the price paid for a company’s shares.
02 – Professional liability of trustees in bankruptcy
- Represented a trustee in bankruptcy in a professional liability suit respecting the continuation of a bankrupt’s business.
- Represented a trustee in bankruptcy sued by a third party alleging that due to the bankrupt’s actions, he lost a major business opportunity.
03 – Municipal liability
- Represented a municipality sued in damages by an industrial concern for failing to issue a certificate confirming that its project was in compliance with municipal bylaws.
- Represented the fire department of a municipality charged with failing to have fought a fire in accordance with good practices.
- Represented city councillors sued for defamation further to a resolution adopted by the city council delaying the issuance of a certificate confirming that an industrial project was in compliance with municipal bylaws.
04 – Product liability
- Represented a fire protection firm sued jointly with the manufacturer in a number of cases involving premature product wear.
