Profile

Sam joined Whitelaw Twining as an Associate in 2023 after completing his articles at a national firm in Calgary. During his articling year Sam gained experience in a wide range of practice areas including financial services, construction, bankruptcy and insolvency, employment, and general commercial litigation.

Prior to joining Whitelaw Twining, Sam completed his JD at the University of Calgary and received a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Classical Archaeology, from Queen’s University. During his studies he played competitive rugby for Queen’s University and the University of Calgary.

Throughout law school Sam volunteered with various Pro Bono Students Canada projects. During articling he continued volunteering with Pro Bono Law Alberta, providing legal services and representation to self-represented litigants through the King’s Bench Amicus program and the Civil Claims Duty Counsel program.

Outside the office, Sam enjoys playing golf, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
