Heather Gray joined Whitelaw Twining as Partner in 2025. With over 20 years of experience, she acts as coverage counsel to both domestic and London-based insurers across a broad range of lines, including financial lines, errors and omissions (E&O), directors’ and officers’ liability (D&O), employment practices liability (EPL), fidelity, and commercial general liability (CGL). She brings a rare combination of litigation experience, regulatory insight, and product knowledge to her insurer clients, both in Canada and internationally.

Heather has significant expertise in resolving complex coverage and defence matters through litigation, arbitration, and mediation. She also advises insurers on regulatory and compliance issues such as licensing, market conduct, and product development, and provides strategic, non-contentious guidance on policy wording and interpretation.

Widely recognized for her deep industry knowledge and practical approach, Heather has been consistently selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers™ in Canada in the field of insurance law. She is also listed in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory under “Litigation: Commercial Insurance” and is a recipient of the Lexology Client Choice Award for Insurance.

When she is not reviewing policy documents or advocating on behalf of her clients, Heather spends her time traveling, exploring the city with friends, and enjoying quality time with her children and her dog.
