Kara Cao

Profile

Kara joined Whitelaw Twining as an Associate in 2022 after completing articles with a civil litigation firm in Edmonton. She maintains a general litigation practice primarily in the area of insurance defence. 

Before joining Whitelaw Twining, Kara developed a strong passion for advocacy as a student. While completing her JD at the University of Calgary, Kara worked as a case worker in Student Legal Assistance (SLA) and competed in various moot and trial competitions. After graduation, Kara continued her involvement in moot competitions as a judge and coach.  

Kara was also an active member of the legal community throughout law school. She worked as a Student Chair for the Canadian Bar Association and was the President of the Diversity & Law Society at the University of Calgary. 

In her spare time, Kara enjoys exploring new hobbies and catching the latest bingeworthy show on Netflix. She is also an active volunteer within the legal community.
