Profile

Thomas joined Whitelaw Twining in 2022. He maintains a general civil litigation practice with an emphasis on insurance defence in bodily injury claims.

Prior to joining Whitelaw, Thomas worked at a boutique-sized personal injury firm in Calgary; primarily handling bodily injury claims. To date, Thomas has appeared on matters before the Provincial Court of Alberta, the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta and the Supreme Court of British Columbia.

Thomas attended law school at the University of Calgary where he volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada (PBSC), Law School Ambassadors and with the Blackstone Medals debates. In his final year of law school, Thomas received the Scott Venturo Rudakoff award for having the highest grade in Insurance Law.

Thomas has experience handling motor-vehicle collision claims, occupier’s liability claims, medical malpractice claims and product liability claims.

Outside of the practice of law, Thomas enjoys hiking in the Kananaskis, skiing, playing soccer and spending time in the summer months in Kelowna, B.C.
