Profile
Annette joined Whitelaw Twining as a summer student in 2020, returned for her articles in 2021, and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2022. She was also called to the Yukon Bar in 2024. She practices in the area of insurance defence, with a developing focus in personal injury, road maintenance, product liability, employment, and transportation/cargo. She has appeared on behalf of clients in matters before the Provincial and Supreme Courts of British Columbia. Annette is a passionate and determined advocate. Her strong work ethic, attention to detail, and persuasive legal advocacy is combined with a sincere enjoyment in working closely with her clients to resolve their complex legal issues.
Annette graduated with her Juris Doctor from Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of British Columbia where she received a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Political Science and minor in Law and Society. Throughout her time at law school, Annette volunteered with the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program, providing both civil and criminal advice and representation for low-income clients. In her final semester of law school, Annette acted as a Judicial Intern at the Surrey Provincial Court. In this role, Annette gained valuable exposure to the inner workings of civil and criminal litigation, observed the nuances of effective advocacy, and provided legal research and support to judges.
When not practicing law, Annette loves hiking, skiing, going to spin class, and generally being outdoors. She also enjoys reading suspense novels and listening to podcasts virtually everywhere she goes.
