Sarah McGuire

Profile

Sarah joined Whitelaw Twining in 2024. She maintains a broad and diverse civil litigation practice, with a focus on commercial and estate litigation, construction law, employment disputes, insurance and professional liability defence, and class action claims.

Sarah has resolved disputes through litigation as well as alternative methods. She aims to guide clients towards early resolution by settlement, mediation, or negotiation where possible, but is a strategic and effective litigator when court proceedings are required. She has appeared before various levels of court and has assisted with proceedings before various regulatory bodies.

Sarah is a fierce advocate for her clients and is committed to doing what is best for their individual needs. She believes in clear, straightforward, and honest communication and advice so that clients are well informed to make important decisions regarding their legal and other options.

Sarah attended law school at the University of Manitoba and was recognized each year for her academic achievements. She clerked with the Manitoba Court of Appeal. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Sarah worked internationally in China, the Middle East, and the Netherlands.

Outside of work, Sarah spends as much time as possible with her spouse. They are avid travellers who enjoy meeting new people and trying new food. They are parents to one very fluffy and spoiled cat. Sarah loves nature and can often be found hiking or cycling outdoors. She also loves coffee, a good book, and yoga.
