Profile

Will is a new associate at Whitelaw Twining, with a broad litigation practice including class actions, employment law, tort law, environmental law and insurance defense. Will joins us from the Department of Justice where he honed his advocacy and litigation skills. Will defended several large proposed and certified national class actions with up to $1.1B at stake. He has defended matters before the Ontario Superior Court, Court of Appeal for Ontario, Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal, Tax Court, and tribunals.

Drawing on his diverse background, Will delivers bespoke legal solutions to his clients’ complex issues. Before being called to the bar in 2021, Will obtained his LLB (Hons) at the University of Sussex in England, a certificate in international public law at Utrecht University in the Netherlands and a LLM in international business law at Osgoode Hall Law School. During his academic tenure, Will did pro bono work for Rainbow Railroad— aiding LGBTQ2S+ asylum seekers —and a housing law clinic and was the Vice President and Secretary of different law societies. Will also placed 1st in the Peter MacKay Cup Moot and secured victories against Cambridge and Oxford in other mooting and negotiations competitions.

In his spare time, Will enjoys running or cycling along Toronto’s lakefront, hiking or snowboarding in his home province of BC, or cooking.
